Overview
Gujarat Titans is one of the newer franchises in the Indian Premier League that was introduced back in 2021. Based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, the team has been part of the competition since the 2022 season. GT, as they are widely known, won the IPL title in their very first season, becoming only the second team in the league’s history to win the trophy on debut. They later became runners-up in 2023 and made it back to the playoffs in 2025.

Team History
The Gujarat Titans was formed in October 2021 when CVC Capital Partners won the rights to operate the Ahmedabad IPL franchise with a bid of Rs 5,625 crore. The team was officially named Gujarat Titans in February 2022. Right from the start, the franchise made smart decisions.
