Team History
The franchise gained immediate attention in 2008 due to its association with Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan. However, early seasons were inconsistent, with frequent changes in leadership and team combinations.
A major turnaround came in 2011 when Gautam Gambhir took charge as captain. Under his leadership, KKR won their first IPL title in 2012 by defeating Chennai Super Kings, followed by another championship in 2014 after a record-breaking run of consecutive wins.
